Types of WNBA Betting Lines
In all basketball betting, the most popular odds are the spread, over/under total, and moneyline.
Perhaps you like the Chicago Sky (-8.5) to defeat the Liberty (+8.5) in a regular-season game. If you bet on the Sky, they must win by at least nine points to cover the spread. Conversely, if you bet on the Liberty, they must lose – or win outright – by eight or fewer points to cover the spread.
If you bet the Sky moneyline (e.g., -550), they only need to win the game to cash tickets. The margin of victory doesn’t matter. If they lose, the Liberty moneyline (+400) cashes.
If you bet the under on the over/under total (e.g., 165.5), the teams must combine for 165 points or fewer to cash under tickets. If they combine for 166 or more points, the over cashes.
WNBA betting doesn’t stop at the mainstream bets; you can also bet on game props like “Race to 10 Points,” alt spreads like Sky -9.5, -10.5, or -11.5, or a first-quarter Sky moneyline (-225).
