Yes, online sports betting is legal in Louisiana. In fact, it's only possible for sports bettors to bet online. No retail or brick-and-mortar sports betting venues are permitted in the state.

There are some sports betting restrictions in Louisiana to be aware of:
Restrictions:
- Wagering is not permitted on the occurrence of injuries, penalties, the outcome of an athlete’s disciplinary rulings, or replay reviews
- The majority of participants in an event must be 18+
- All high school/amateur sports or athletic events other than Olympics and college sports are prohibited
- At the launch date, 55 of 64 parishes in Louisiana have approved legalized sports betting. The following nine parishes were not approved during the launch: Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, Jackson, LaSalle, Sabine, Union, West Carroll and Winn
- Sports bettors within these nine parishes are able to create BetMGM accounts, deposit and withdraw. However, bettors must travel to a legal parish to place legal wagers.
Additional Items to Note:
- All NCAA Divisions are approved for the sports of baseball, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, and softball
- No restriction on Louisiana college teams or college games played in Louisiana
- College player props are permitted (so long as the prop is not otherwise restricted)
- All-star games, draft, and draft lotteries are permitted for approved leagues
- For approved awards that involve voting, the deadline for allowing wagers is at the time votes are due. For all other awards, wagering can run until prior to the award’s announcement
